Overview
LFB designed lighting to improve accessibility around Ledbury Estate’s shared courtyard spaces and the overall atmosphere of the spaces after dark. Ledbury Estate Bromyard Site posed a unique and fascinating challenge for the design team: to provide improved landscape design for a brutalist inspired site.

Design process
The design goal was to support the residents’ feelings of safety and security without overlighting the area and negatively impacting residents wellbeing.
Our design process faced significant constraints and challenges related to underground services, cable routes and budget. The lighting has been carefully coordinated with two landscape architects on the team and council engineers. This approach aims to mitigate visual clutter and focuses on achieving a balance between the landscape lighting and the building-mounted fixtures provided by M&E engineers.
