Overview
The Fulham Gasworks development is located within the administrative boundary of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham with the eastern perimeter of the site bordering the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. LFB’s approach looks to create a legible outdoor space here, by introducing a hierarchy of routes and spaces.

Design process
This site was historically occupied by gasholders, associated infrastructure and commercial units. However, these useshave recently been cleared and the site is currently occupied by unused former commercial buildings and limited National Grid operations. The surrounding area consists of residential buildings as well as a large number of retail and commercial properties.
The introduction of lighting to entrances by illuminating key trees in warm white light will assist wayfinding but also create a more welcoming character, with human scale lighting becoming the priority.
