Castello di Miradolo
Project details
Overview
Miradolo Castle is a building situated at the entrance of the Chisone Valley in Italy which has a magnificent view of Monviso. It is made up of a both noble portion and a rustic portion of building designs that began to take on the appearance of what we see today between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th.
In 2007 the entire complex was purchased by a private organisation and given on free loan to the Cosso Foundation which began its activities and an important restoration project in 2008 to bring both the building and the park to modern standards and give back an important historical and artistic resource to the local territory.
The new lighting has been carefully designed working together with the Client to achieve the desired atmosphere. Each tree has been identified in term of colour and foliage in order to only light a small number during main events that provide the most visual interest. Lighting to pathways, the historical buildings and the outdoor gathering areas will connect the buildings and grounds in a holistic manner and create a legible and usable after-dark visitor experience.
